About
Castaway Cats is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit cat rescue based in Bear, DE, comprised entirely of volunteers. We do not have a shelter and all of our cats are in foster homes.
This rescue was started in 1992 in an effort to help the homeless and feral cats in our area. Each cat we rescue is spayed/neutered, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, vaccinated with FVRCP and rabies shots, and given a flea and ear mite treatment. Because all of our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, we do not adopt out kittens under the age of 12 weeks.
We can also help you with low cost spaying or neutering of your cats.

All cats that come through Castaway Cats are spayed and nuetered. If you need help with fixing your cat, there is a small charge.

Shelters
Hundreds of shelters are built by Castaway Cats and placed around the area for feral cats to have shelter during cold days.

Awareness
The top priority of Castaway Cats is to spread knowledge about caring for cats in a safe and loving way that benefits both cat and person.
